Greyscale Colouring Tutorial by x-ste-x Greyscale Colouring Tutorial by x-ste-x
I've not been able to paint the last few days so I decided to try and write up some sort of basic tutorial on how I colour from a greyscale image.

I'm still learning myself so I find it quite hard to give advice but hopefully a few people my find something of help in there.

Feel free to leave me a comment if there is anything you don't understand and I'll do my best to help out. Also I may do some more tutorials in the future so if there's anything you'd like me to cover let me know.

This is really helpful and great ! But i have a question , when you have layers of different kind , such as normal , overlay, softlight and you stack(merge) them their look and the picture is ruined. So much question is how to merge them without losing the look ?

Thanks, I'm pleased you found it helpful.

The only way I know how to do it is. Select all, Ctrl+A, then do a copy merge, Shift+Ctrl+C, then paste that into a new layer, Ctrl+V. This will take a copy of every visible layer and paste it into a new layer. Now you can flatten the whole image or use Ctrl E to start to merge down the layers.

Dude, I really have to thank you for this tutorial.

This helped me so much to get better.

I hate it to work with colors first and I had not found a good way to get color to a greyscale image, but after I worked the way of this tutorial my pictures became better and better every day.
This is the first tutorial that make really sense.
All other Greyscale-color tutrial are very confusing to me...

Thank you so much for this!
You are a saint. :-)
